Good news! I've been thinking about this for a while, and i finally decided to do it so. Everyone knows that Platinum 2.0 is under development, at a really not desired pace, but moving nonetheless, also, what not everyone knows is my progress schedule. I am working a dealer at a time, so i decided, why not release small updates once i finish these dealers? This way, you guys not only will be able to follow my progress closely, how will also be able to enjoy new things without massive waiting times. Although, not everything is good, and there are compromises. One of them is, these updates are not cumulative and not single picked downloads, if you skip one, the next one might cause bugs and crash your game, so, download all of them and keep yourself up to date! I mean, if you haven't downloaded and installed update 01, the following update (02), won't work. You will need to download 01, and 02, install both. Another compromise, if you edit the database of the game, your personal changes will not be carried over. Now, keeping that in mind, download it and have fun. -> How to install <- Just replace the files in the according folders. (v1.21 MUST be installed before this) -> 01 - US Independents Update Content <- - Updated Shelby Series 1 with stripeless variation added as a tune - Updated Saleen S7 Twin Turbo and Saleen S7 Twin Turbo Competition with fixed gauges and new tailight texture - Updated SSC Ultimate Aero with fixed shadows, new tailight texture, paintable interior and GPS screen

  4. TDU Forever! TEST DRIVE is making a return!! The rights to the future of the brand have been bought by Bigben Interactive from the Atari Group. The last game to be released in the long running series was Test Drive Unlimited 2 (TDU 2) back in 2011. Coming 5 years after the release of the cult classic Test Drive Unlimited (TDU) which is still played to this day by a loyal following on the PC mainly due to the talent and generosity of the modding community. And those fans and many like them will be delighted to hear that Bigben has plans to develop new titles in the Test Drive Unlimited franchise. We are more than confident with respect to the quality of this franchise, which is loved by so many players[...]Our teams are very enthusiastic at the idea of being able to work on this license, which has already proven its worth - the game Test Drive Unlimited 2 sold 1.8 million units. – Alain Falc, CEO of Bigben Interactive TDU 2 by many of the previous title’s fans was seen as a bit of a step back despite it’s second island location of Ibiza, improved graphics, roads quality and dynamic weather, because of the handling. However there are many out there who very much enjoyed their time with, or still play TDU 2, so it’s not a one flavour works for all. And of course, the Forza Horizon series of games have certainly improved on the open-road/open-world formula that the TDU games evolved, but even still to this day, the environment size is seen as a bit of negative, and the same has been said about other games such as Midnight Club Los Angeles. The Crew is a game that has been developed by numerous members of the original and second game and it’s easy to see that yet again the environment size is one area where they really excel. However, the driving feel and world physics are an area that doesn’t exactly let it down, but it does take a bit of the shine off. In conclusion then it appears that the best blend for an open-world game is something with: authentic handling with options to tweak as player requires complete freedom great road quality – no stair like hills and blocks for kerbs support for keyboard, pads and wheels (clutch and shifter would be nice too) dynamic day/night & weather customisation to allow players to make the vehicles their own lovely engine sounds accurate details of car interiors and instruments So simply put: a mix between TDU/2 and The Crew’s environments + Forza Horizon handling + DRIVECLUB weather effects and vehicle detailing + Forza/NFS customisation + RaceRoom Racing Experience engine sounds. See, simple! *a hat tip to The Compensator for letting us know about this [via Videogamer.com]
  5. Had a conversation with eden games on their official facebook page(it's verified). I've asked them indirectly and assuming that there won't be any TDU 3, the message I got as a reply: As you can see, Eden games told us to wait. Despite I assumed there won't be any TDU 3, but they didn't agree with me over there.
  6. I can´t believe it! Here it comes... EDEN Games is back! WOHOO! For me it is such a great feeling because I just can´t see such a nice game die. Link to the website: | | Eden Games <-- They are looking fort jobs! I think they won´t develop TDU3 but maybe it is a step into the right direction. You can´contact them but if this function is aviable I will ask them out. :P
  7. Here's something none us were NOT expecting but is their plan to do this in order to breakaway from their parent a good idea? Could it be that the dodgy decision making, the abysmal customer service and operations, the lack of info and the let's face it completely horrid method of running a business over the past number of years all down to those in France? Yeah sure. Thanks. Atari hit by dwindling revenue, files for bankruptcy | VG247
  8. Earlier when I was looking at what was on offer on the Marketplace I had the mad notion to do a search for TDU2 and something hit me ...a low flying patio heater but that's not important. No, more eyebrow-raising than that was the addition - perhaps even recent - of three new car pack bundles. Now when I say 'new' I don't mean never seen before cars, no what I mean is there are now bundles that contain the already available DLC cars for a small price compared to buying them as before. See for yourself in the screengrab I took below. Is atari awake? Are they doing something with TDU2? Are they the new Coke? What the hell am I going on about? Who knows! See for yourself.
  9. If you have been bothering to follow the recent news in regards to Atari's latest financial results, then you will know that Atari is currently in the process of divesting Eden Games. What this means is that Atari is basically putting a 'FOR SALE' sign in front of Eden and sticking the same label to it's staff and assets just like they did back in 2006 with the Driver developers Reflections who of course went on to become Ubisoft Reflections and produce the very good (but stupid story) Driver San Francisco. Eden has already been moved to a smaller premises which to be honest makes sense as their previous offices was way too much for the 20-30 staff that remained and Atari has assured that TDU2 will be supported (haha!) in the mean time but as you would expect with Atari when they have called sites reporting on the "closure" of Eden Games and such their contacts vary from simply reducing Eden in size to completely admitting that they are selling it off. What does this mean for the TDU series? Well who knows, maybe after Ferrari Racing Legends comes out Atari will hand TDU3 to SMS or maybe the next TDU will only be found on Facebook or iPad/iPhone. Either way we've had the good: TDU. The bad: TDU2. Let's hope that TDU3 isn't the ugly. UPDATE: Studio is now CLOSED as of 1st March 2013
  10. Hello! So i recently bought TDU2 for PC because I wanted to experience the online features that the game offers. I installed the game and updated it to the latest version. It asked for my online activation code(product key) wich I then typed in and it succeeded. Then when I logged in to my Atari account on the start menu - I got this message saying 'Invalid product key! Switching to offline mode.' And I don't know what to do anymore. I've been googling around but there's not much to find. Any response is kindly appreciated!
  11. So i have purchased the game a long time ago and decided to play again. Only to find out that dlc requires atari tokens. Upon trying to purchase them it never ends up going through and paypal never ends up paying these guys. I heard atari went bankrupt so i was wondering if this is why i cant buy atari tokens?
  12. Slowly, I'm really getting annoyed... People that use that launcher that makes it possible to use mods will get banned... Just because they want new sounds or new models, that don't give you any advantage. But they're not doing anything against cheaters. Or is it acutally possible to win a race in 0.0 seconds? I don't think so!! I can't upload any challanges because I lose my money to cheaters!!!
  13. So yeah, i can think of some people who wont be sad.. lol Game over? Atari US files for bankruptcy - Business on NBCNews.com

    Soup

No soup for you! We invite forum member John Smith (aka Mr Softie) to write about something that's on his mind: You can't eat soup. Why? 'Cos it's soup, you drink it. But it's food, right? So why can't you eat it? Well you can, but only bits of it. It's mostly soup. With bits. Sometimes. Unless it's cream of chicken or something, and how do you cream a chicken? Poor chicken. But there's something missing from the soup world. Virtual soup. Atari, take note - Test Soup Unlimited, coming “soon”. Imagine the range of flavours you would be able to virtually eat/drink and pretend to taste. Of course the problem is that if Atari makes TSU, you'll probably only be able to move your spoon forwards or backwards. Every time you try and corner with your spoon you'll probably lose the rear-end and drop the spoon in your soup. And you don't want that, it's like dropping a biscuit in your cup of tea! I hate that. Every time I call 999 to save my biscuit they shout at me. Problem 2: you'll have a massive bowl of soup, maybe even 2 soups, a beginner soup and another bigger bowl of soup later in the game, but you'll only have a few spoons to try. Probably about 10 red spoons with flashy handles and only a few other kinds. But hey, don't worry, you can search your bowl of soup for rusty old spoons and have them restored! So, soup. Why is there no such thing as cheese soup? Surely that's the best of both worlds (for normal people like me)? Can't be that hard! Well, actually, the cheese would be pretty hard. But you get my point. Now, more importantly – ponies. I hate ponies. They ruin forums, I think we should make pony soup to sort that problem out. I'm happy to tell you I've tested that theory, and my review is mostly positive. Appearance? Well, it looks like a barbie melted in the sun. Taste? There is a mild hint of plastic, and an elegant hint of burnt. Good news though! Test Soup Unlimited must be coming soon, here's Atari's very unique intro tune ! Bye.
  15. Hey guys, whether you are waiting for this game or not the fact of the matter is it is coming and in June some time by the look of it. Dates vary from 8th to 29th and Later for the UK and Australia but anyway I digress. So here we have trailer #2 and I think you'll agree this is a better one than that crappy mess of an Announcement Trailer and I have to say the Nordschleife is looking particularly stunning from the views you see of it as is that fictional track that looks to be based in my enck of the woods up in glorious and sunny Scotland. No that is true well for this week anyway! :D So without further ado, here it is.
  16. A new member of the Atari team is appointed and made some statements about taking action against the hackers and cheaters. Starting with the Mocrapto dude, who is ruining the CRC (PC) for a couple of months now. Mattlab is his name. He calls himself the new Sheriff of TDU2, lol  Test Drive Unlimited 2 Forums - Mattlab's post
  17. So I kind of started to miss TDU2 a bit after giving it a 7 month break. I heard about the DLC2 news and what not, and I am actually quite interested in how that turns out (if it ever comes out). So I decided to reinstall TDU2 last night and setup my G27 for some cruising with the SLS. And the first problem I encounter is.... the game won't activate... I mean wtf, like I install it fine, but as soon as I get to activate it with my LEGAL CD KEY that I have had since the game came out, I get the "this game has been activated too many times bla bla bla". Which leads me onto secureROM's website. Then I filled in a form which was asking for the game key and some unlock key which I handed to them and described the issue I was having. They also "forced me" into installing some diagnostic software to scan my computer for errors and what not, then to provide them with the file it made. So I did all that, and the reply I got last night was this: "Thank you for your e-mail. It appears that you have exceeded your activation limit. Unfortunately, we are unable to increase your activation limit and have been advised by the software publisher to direct users with these inquires directly to them. You can find a list of publishers by clicking on the following link: https://support.securom.com/faq_nsr.html If you have any further questions, please let us know. Best regards," So now I had to go to Atari and fill in another stupid form with pretty much THE SAME information I already provided to secureROM. The response from atari was even worse by the way. This is what I got in return: "Greetings! Thank you for taking the time to contact us. In order for us to provide a replacement key for your product, we ask that you please perform the following steps below and reply to this ticket once completed. Please either scan or take a digital picture of one of the following items: * The front of the game CD or... * The game manual showing the CD keys (if available) or... * The sales receipt * The invoice received by email of your digital purchase * If purchased thru Atari.com provide the Digital River receipt and transaction number" Also include * Game title * Full name (first and last) * Atari.com Display name (if available) * Mailing Address * Date the customer support ticket was submitted * The ticket number associated with this ticket Sorry but wtf ? Who the hell keeps a receipt for a game they bought from a shop like... 2 years ago ? ( I don't accurately even remember when this came out.) So now I will be providing what I can from that list and see how that goes. Sorry if this bores you but I thought I will share the stupid issues Im having with this "great" game. to be continued.... - eXile:rolleyes:
  18. Well, I'm fed up with the pathetic BS that Atari and Digital River want to provide me. I install the game, and I receive a message saying I activated the key too many times [i bought the download version]. I was like "No big deal, this has happened before. I'll call, and either get a new key, reset this one, or a manual code". I call, and this is what I get: "Mr. Hummel, I'm afraid that we will be unable to activate the game, and fix your error, as our activation server is currently offline" [i called around 11PM EST]. I said "OK.", and hung up. In the morning, I emailed "[email protected]", as I found in the activation window, and on a thread here, and I clearly put in the subject line my order number, and that I needed manual activation. I explain that I needed to reinstall, and provide the manual activation code, and my billing info. I receive a reply saying: We are unable to help you. Visit http://www.atari.com/us/support for more info. Now, click that link. I get a message saying that page doesn't exist. Do you? So, I email them and say "Your link is dead. Please fix it.", They tell me they can only help with download issues, when the activation window clearly told me to contact Digital River, and their logo is branded in the activator. Then then tell me to contact MICROSOFT. What the fudge! How in the world do they get the idea to have me contact MICROSOFT!?!? Microsoft is nowhere related to TDU! Atari made the game, Digital River sold it to me, and Digital River activates it!!!!!! WTF! They then said I should redownload my game. I replied saying "I have downloaded it. In fact, I can download it just fine. If you'd look at the subject line, I'm having an ACTIVATION issue. Your server said I activated the game too many times. All you should need to do, is either give me a new key, reset the current one, or give me an unlock code." They tell me AGAIN to go to that http://www.atari.com/us/support which is a link for a page that DOES NOT EXIST, for Tech Support. I reply "How many times do I need to tell you that your link is invalid???" I then get some c***amamie BS saying "We apologize for the inconvenience. Unfortunately, due to the age of order number 1482*****, it is outside our influence as a third party processing service to pursue support on your behalf. We advise you to contact the vendor directly or place a new order." They then give me that bad link AGAIN, and tell me to submit a support ticket to Atari. Atari's response? Contact Digital River.:mad: I'm fed up with the BS. My response? File a complaint with the BBB of Minnesota and North Dakota (Digital River's HQ is in Minnesota) against Digital River. If it still isn't resolved, I'll have to file another one against Atari, Inc. With the BBB of Metropolitan New York. (Where Atari's HQ is) I want DR to give me a new key, and a DVD copy, as the DVD copy doesn't have this BS activation limit. They shouldn't have a problem sending me a DVD copy. I paid my $$$ for the game. Complaint: -- OLD IMAGE REMOVED (imageshack) --
  19. If you haven't noticed already then there has actually been Official news regarding the Exploration Pack albeit late but hey something is better than nothing and of course you know the saying good things come to those who wait. So by all that we should be getting a free Pizza or something each... or maybe not. So hey finally something official has come our way and something else that's also telling for a lot of you is the below: UPDATE #1 - 12th July, 2011 @ 23:44 GMT+1 Sounds promising eh? Check it for yourself and read the full official news posting at the link below. News | Test Drive Unlimited 2 Official Website
  20. There are words appearing on the t'internet that TDU2 has gone Gold! Hopefully an official release will come to confirm this but it's good to finally know that another delay is looking very unlikely. So if you were waiting for this to not be the case then rest easy, you can pre-order the game for the February release as that is when it's coming! If you're unsure of what gone gold means then basically it means the final version(s) have been completed and are sent away ready for printing and packing to prepare for it's release when we will all be playing it in February. :D It's been a long wait but it's close to actually being over, can you believe it! Test Drive Unlimited 2 goes gold - Gamereactor UK Press Release below
  21. As the title says, who's getting it??
